In a proactive effort to enhance campus safety and emergency preparedness, the National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) Cubao Campus conducted a series of fire and earthquake awareness and response activities on March 28, 2025.
The day began with a PEP Talk on Fire and Earthquake Emergency Response and Preparedness organized by the CBY Fire and Rescue Volunteer Group. Held at the campus Audio-Visual Room (AVR), the session was attended by students from the elementary to college levels. The talk emphasized fire prevention tips, earthquake safety protocols, and evacuation procedures, and included real-life case studies and an open Q&A session for students to clarify emergency concerns.
Following the talk, NCBA Cubao successfully conducted a Fire and Earthquake Emergency Drill. Spearheaded by the Office of Student Affairs and supported by Wolfstorm Black Security Inc., the campus security agency, the simulation tested the readiness of students, faculty, and staff. The exercise began with the emergency alarm and proceeded with the “duck, cover, and hold” protocol, followed by a swift and orderly evacuation to designated safety areas—all completed in under ten minutes.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Marilag Sub-Station and CBY Fire and Rescue Group jointly supervised the simulation. They also led hands-on demonstrations, including the proper use of fire extinguishers and hoses, and a simulated gas tank fire response where students had the opportunity to wear fire safety gear and practice real-life emergency techniques.
NCBA expressed its appreciation to BFP Marilag and CBY for their strong partnership in promoting disaster awareness and equipping the academic community with critical life-saving knowledge.
These combined efforts highlight NCBA’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience across its entire community.
