We are thrilled to announce that two talented students from the Third Year Hospitality Management program at the National College of Business and Arts, Kyla Ocampo and Eugene de Leon, alongside their coach, Mr. Chester Mogol have emerged as champions at the Philippine Food Expo. Not only did they win the overall championship, but they also secured the top spot in the Food Styling and Food Photography category.
Facing tough competition from 33 other renowned schools, the competition required participants to display their culinary skills and artistic flair, presenting the dishes that were visually stunning. Kyla and Eugene’s remarkable food styling techniques, combined with their impeccable food photography skills, impressed the judges and captivated the audience.
Their innovative approach, attention to detail, and ability to create visually appealing compositions truly set them apart from the rest. Their winning entry entitled: : Talipapa: Modern Take on the Ginataang Halo Halo. This dish indulges in the creamy Coconut Milk Mousse and Roasted Root Crops and topped with Whipped Ube in Cassava Pate Sablee, paired with Taro and Langka French Macarons, and served with Warm Coconut Milk. With 6 methods and techniques used to create this modern take on a classic dessert.
