


NCBA 1st VIRTUAL RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM
On February 18, 2022, the National College of Business and Arts conducted its 1st Virtual Research Colloquium with the theme, “Promoting Academic Research with Resiliency in the New Norms and Challenges.”
The activity, which was held via Zoom, witnessed the showcase of research outputs of students from various academic programs that have research courses – Accountancy Research, Business Research, Marketing Research, Research in Hospitality Management, Capstone Project in Information System, and Feasibility Study.
This colloquium was a part of the institution’s research capability program, which served as an avenue to deal with the concerns and discussions of the results of the studies.
Founder and President of LEAD Philippines, Dr. Mario C. Lucero served as the keynote speaker of the program.
15 presenters were witnessed and judged by a panel of evaluators composed of different experts from their respective fields: Mr. John Julius S. Luna, MBA, Mr. Harvey B. Pasco, CPA Ms. Caroline M. Cuesta, MSHM.
Among the presenters, three were chosen as the best: Maria Kristina Gabrentina, BSBA and John Lester Rodil, BSBA (first placers), Abigail Lumayno, BSIS (second placer) and Myla Demillo, BSBA (third placer).
Two faculty researchers also presented their respective research: Ms. Rebecca Gorospe, MBA and Dr. Rosadel Jarmin.
In addition, a research e-poster competition was also conducted. Among eight participants, three were also hailed the best: Charlene Onilongo, BSBA (first prize), Eros Josiah Crystal, BSHM (second place) and Maria Kristina Gabrentina, BSBA (third prize).
The event was organized by the Research and Development Director Dr. Maricel E. Makinano with her team, Ms. Erika Mae Laureano, Ms. Kyla Marie Perez and Ms. Kristine Tungol in coordination with the Research Advisers, Academic Area Chairpersons and Directors of Student Affairs.
The audience-listeners of the research colloquium were the 200 first-year students from the three campuses.

Guidance Conducts Webinar on Gender Roles and Empowering Gender Equality
Consistent with the provisions of DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2017 , “Gender-Responsive Basic Education Policy” and CHED Memo No. s 2015, “Establishing the Policies and Guideline on Gender and Development”, the National College of Business and Arts Guidance and Counseling Center commits to holistically develop the NCBA learners with access to quality, culture-based basic education in a learner-friendly, safe, and nurturing environment with the provision to continuously improve its support systems at all levels of governance, Ms. Amparo Morales, former Guidance counselor of NCBA was invited to be the guest speaker of the webinar, “ Understanding Gender Roles and Empowering Gender Equality” last February 24, 2022. All college and Senior high school students, faculty and non-teaching employees were invited to the event. The students were interactive through Youtube live chats and asked controversial questions to the speaker.

Guidance Spearheads “Human Intimacy: The Basics of Love, Romance and Partnership” Webinar
The webinar was attended virtually by all students in the three branches, Cubao, Fairview and Taytay.
