In celebration of the National College of Business and Arts 58th Founding Anniversary, a cornucopia of senior high school students, representing the academic institutions of Caloocan and Quezon City participated, in the annual Battle of the Brains, a competition that pitted the smarts and genius of those very students against one another, at NCBA’s Fairview Campus. Separated into two categories, the ABM category and the General Knowledge category, the competition sought to bring out the innate skills and talents of the students by bringing them under the pressure of answering difficult questions in a very short amount of time.
In this regard, Novaliches High School, Judge Feliciano Belmonte Senior High School, and Lagro High School scored as the winners of the ABM Category, with Novaliches High School coming out on top as Champion of the ABM Quiz Bee through their students Gerald Andrei Cado, Kryzler Valiente, and Vhince Maverick Yaranon supported by their coaches Ruby Suzette Sape and Arlene Gerona.
Meanwhile, for the General Knowledge category, Lagro High School, Novaliches High School, and Eclaro Academy topped as the victors, with Lagro High School, through its students Sydney Ryan Magsanay, Ian Rick Duco, and Anthony Carmelo together with their coaches Evelyn Perrero and Mariano Cabañez, coming out on top as the Champion of the General Knowledge Quiz Bee.
All told, this year’s Battle of the Brains not only served to highlight and bring to attention the brilliant young minds of the local academic community but also served as a way to build bridges between NCBA and its surrounding academic institutions, ensuring a community of well-educated and like-minded students and academics that will be able to support each other in their own, respective ventures.
